To
reduce storm water runoff which contributes
to pollution of our lakes,
I will support level of effort and matching fund grants for green roofs, rain
gardens and pollution-absorbing ponds.
In an effort to reduce
exhaust emissions and traffic congestion,
where feasible
I will advocate for traffic
circles rather than four way traffic signals. As your
Oakland County
Commissioner,
I will also press for discussions between
D-DOT and SMART on the
coordination
of central purchasing, vehicle repair
and service routes to move us closer than
we’ve ever been before to a
Coordinated Regional
Transit System.
In
addition, I will advocate
for Oakland County’s commitment to reduce
greenhouse gas emissions, air pollution, and
to improve fuel efficiency of
ground transport
services by becoming a SmartWay Transport
Partner.
